Q. How long have you been a provender® Franchise Owner?
A. 18 months

Q. What appeals to you about this particular vending franchise business?
A. provender® appeals to me because it allows me to work flexible hours that suits my daily and weekly routine. This allows me to allocate time to be part of important events and occasions with my close family and friends. Being a Franchise Owner for provender® gives me much more control over my time than I thought was ever possible. My last job took up most of my time including weekends.
 
Q. What is it like running a mobile vending franchise business?
A. Running this mobile vending franchise business allows me to take the weekends off and not work very long days in the week either. I have a lot more free time now for myself. provender® has changed my lifestyle altogether, as I am able to do a lot more from home. Previously as a café owner it was difficult to operate from home, but now I can. This is largely due to provender’s® new tracking technology which allows me to keep track of the products and monitor empty lanes in my machines online. 

Q. Was there a lot of work initially?
A. Not really, it was very easy actually. provender® went through everything about becoming a Franchise Owner with my sister and I. We were shown the areas we were going to work in and planned our routines. It takes a little while to get use to the vending run but after that it just becomes second nature. Q. Has your workload increased or decreased?
A. My workload has decreased from my previous jobs. On the other hand my sister and I have gradually increased our workload which has been self inflicted to develop our business and increase revenue. This has been positive for the growth of our franchise business. Regardless of our development efforts, the increased workload has not changed my new and improved lifestyle.

Q. Is it a difficult business to manage?
A. No… not at all. It is very easy to run and manage. The software that provender® provides to assist Franchise Owners like myself to manage products in our machines has provided sufficient assistance for the management our business. It is a very organised business.
 
Q. How do you plan to grow your vending franchise business further?
A. Word of mouth has already helped increase our franchise business recognition. We are planning to use cold calling as a tool to drum up business. provender® has provided us with leads which we have followed up on and will continue to do so. This has been a successful method as provender® has also provided us with guides on how to capture these leads and make them our permanent clients. Following provender’s® methods has been a benefit to our business even though we were reluctant to follow them initially. I have come to the realisation that our success only adds to provender’s® success, therefore they will always guide us down the right path. We have also discussed looking into referrals as most of our clients are very happy with the service we provide and would be happy to help us out with new leads. This method has worked for us in the past.

Q. Does being in the franchising business offer you flexibility or is that just a myth?
A. Flexibility is not a myth for Franchise Owners who work with provender®. I am able to make plans around my daily routine and even change my schedule to accommodate my personal commitments that are important to me and my family. If I need to take time out I can, as long as the machines that need to be filled have been attended too as mentioned. provender’s® technology allows me to pre-plan my work day which helps ensure that my machines are always filled.

Q. Where do you find the time to do non-work related activities? Do you get time?
A. As a Franchise Owner, provender® enables me to arrange my work in a manner that frees up my weekends and nights. This means that I go out on Friday nights and also catch up with family and friends over the weekend which was something I was unable to do prior to joining provender®.

Q. Explain how the flexibility offered to you by your franchise business has changed your lifestyle?
A. I no longer work 7 days a week and owning this franchise business allows me to take time out for myself and my family. provender’s® flexibility ensures that I am not always tired and it keeps me fit as I am always on the move. Through provender® I meet new people and am not tied down to one location.

Q. What are some things you are able to do with your spare time now that you were not able to do prior to becoming a franchise business owner?
A. I have always had a great interest in photography but have not able to pursue it due to my prior jobs. Since becoming a Franchise Owner with provender® I have picked up photography in my spare time. I am also now able to go shopping which I enjoy.

Q. What benefits does a home-based franchise offer you?
A. As a home-based franchise business I save money on the rent of an office and its furniture. It feels like I actually own my business since I am able to plan my routine around my own personal schedule and not the other way around. This type of business also keeps me fit. Q. Is the process of obtaining your vending machine products difficult or time consuming?

Q. What is your favourite vending machine and why?
A. The Bev Max – it’s a big machine which is easy to stock and clean. I can get right inside and around it.

Q. What made you choose franchising as a career option?
A. I needed a change in lifestyle. Having owned a café before and knowing how hard it can be to manage staff and work long hours, provender’s® franchise option seemed like the change I really needed.

Q. Are you happy with your vending franchise business choice?
A. I am extremely happy with my mobile franchise business choice.

Q. How does the vending franchise business differ or compare to your past jobs or career paths?
A. In my last position I owned a café business which did not have all the benefits that owning a franchise business with provender® does. The café had too many rules and regulations, monthly rental payments and too many staff and suppliers to look after and control. With provender® my franchise business is straight forward, it is easy to purchase supplies for my machines and not having staff to look after makes it less stressful and it is another expense I don’t have to worry about.

Q. Tell us who your favourite customer is and why they are your favourite?
A. National Foods Australia – they are all very friendly people who treat my sister and I well.

Q. Describe your average weekend since you’ve become a Franchise Owner?
A. Since I have become a Franchise Owner with provender® I actually have a weekend. Just being able to relax on my weekends has been unbelievable because with the café I worked on weekends. I enjoy going to the movies and the beach on the weekends. My family enjoy having lots of BBQ’s which I am now able to attend and also catching up with friends. I go to the footy whenever it is on and like to visit Bunning stores.

Q. Do you feel the need to hire employees to help run your vending franchise business?
A. Not at the moment. My sister and I currently manage the shifts together very easily. We may look into it in the future once we increase our sites.

Q. Is there any advice you would like to give to potential Franchise Owners?
